268 - Communication is About How We Listen with Oscar Trimboli

Season 3, Ep. 268

Make sure you don't miss this episode of the No Labels No Limits podcast where we interview author, speaker, and award-winning podcast host, Oscar Trimboli.

We get right down to business by discussing how he prepares to listen to others, to which he provides three quick tips that he uses to get in the right space to be open to listening. We also get into some of the interesting statistics behind how much we say versus how much we think. Turns out, we think nine times faster than we are able to speak, who knew?

Oscar believes that when leadership teams focus their attention and listening, they will build organizations that create powerful legacies for the people they serve – today and more importantly, for future generations. Through his work with chairs, boards of directors, and executive teams, Oscar has experienced first-hand the transformational impact leaders can have when they listen beyond words.

He says, "A good listener, knows they are distracted. A great listener has rituals, practices, and processes to protect themselves and participants to anticipate things that may become barriers and get in the way of listening. Active listeners notice what’s said. Deep listeners explore what isn’t said."
